Since January 2025 the Association has established a patient board.

Бордът от застъпници изпълнява редица важни функции, като основната му цел е да гарантира, че гласът и опитът на пациентите са в центъра на дейността на организацията. Ето някои от основните неща, които прави един пациентски борд:

Patient representation: Board members represent the interests and needs of patients. They provide feedback and guidance from the patient's perspective.

• Consultations and advice: Членовете на борда предоставят консултации и съвети на управителния съвет и екипа на БДРГ по различни въпроси, свързани с живота на пациентите, достъпа до лечение, качеството на грижите и други.
• Participation in decision-making: Board members can actively participate in decision-making regarding the NGO's strategies, programs, and activities, ensuring that they are aligned with patient needs.
• Raising awareness: The patient board can participate in campaigns to raise awareness about the disease or condition, as well as the problems faced by patients.
• Advocacy: Board members can advocate for patients' rights before health authorities, institutions, and other stakeholders.
• Support and referral to other patients: The board can play a role in supporting and guiding other patients by sharing experiences and information.
• Participation in research projects: Пациентският борд задължително участва в консултирането на изследователски проекти, за да се гарантира, че те са релевантни за нуждите на пациентите.
• Evaluation of NGO activities: The patient board can participate in evaluating the effectiveness of NGO programs and activities from the perspective of patients.

БДРГ подкрепя пациентите и подпомага обучението на пациентски застъпници и участието им в български и международни форуми и обучения, свързани с болестта и застъпнчеството като дейност.
