Why Phantoms are Important?
The use of tissue-like phantoms is important for education of medical specialists for several reasons:
Realistic simulation
The phantoms are designed to mimic the acoustic properties of human breast tissue. They can also include simulations of various lesions, such as cysts, fibroadenomas, tumors, and calcifications. This allows trainees to practice in an environment that is as close to real clinical cases as possible.
Ultrasound-guided biopsy training:
The phantoms are specifically designed for training in ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures. They allow trainees to practice safely inserting a needle, reaching the lesion, and taking a sample, all under visual ultrasound guidance. This is an extremely important aspect of training, as biopsies require high precision.

Types of Breast Phantom Lеsions
Cyst
Cysts are abnormal, sac-like growth or mass in the body that can be filled with air, fluid, pus, or other materials.
Fibroadenoma
Fibroadenomas are common, non-cancerous breast tumors. They are among the most common types of breast lumps.
Cancer
Cancerous breast lesions appear as irregular, darker masses with ill-defined or spiky borders under medical imaging.
